St. John’s, Aug. 4 – Any night that starts out with Tara Lehman (of D8 Night fame) is bound to be a fruitful one. We went down to the closing night of the George Street Festival to catch a bit of the Masterless Men set. After that, I had a little something I wanted to take care of.

See, one of the publicists from the Newfoundland tourism board told me she had a cute single friend that she was going to try and set me up with. She sent a pic, and oh my god, her friend is so bloody cute, it’s ridiculous. I was in. He was out.

She kept making polite excuses for him, but it was clear that he had no desire to hook up with a woman on a cross-country dating frenzy. So I let it go, but not before finding out where this gun-shy cutie works. Then I did what any refined lady with a proper upbringing would do: I ambushed him at his place of work. I didn’t think it was possible, but he’s even cuter in real life. Tara made the introductions and we took it from there. We, talked, laughed, flirted, posed for pictures and then I gave him my number and left it at that. Yes, after 41 dates, I finally met a guy I would actually want to kiss. God bless the Rock!

Wow, what a great thing you are doing, I am 41 single live in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, I read your adventure story in The Halifax Chronicle Herald, Sunday August 9th Edition. I relate to finding that perfect someone for me, I am not perfect just looking for a lady who thinks we are great for each other. I agree it all starts with chatting and meeting for an informal coffee / tea meeting or whatever both decide on.

I grew up in a small fishing village in Cape Breton. Successfully completed high school then I lived in Toronto for 9 plus years. I have a Computer Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College and work full-time as a computer technician. I am single, no children but like them, and looking for someone that is interested in dating, long term , marriage and children.

I believe in fate / destiny and try not to let distance or little age gap stop people from chatting with someone who could become a friend or the love off their life. I am a plain guy down to earth but very special to the right lady who can be romantic and I feel have lots to offer to someone. I try not to prejudge anyone and appreciate the same; you can never really tell from online chat but sometimes need to take a chance you could meet the love off your life or a new great best friend.

Some qualities I have and appreciate are: honesty, loyalty, respect (both for yourself and others), family & friend commitment, ethics, integrity, values and morals, work, sarcastic humour (not harmful type), friendliness, down to earth nature, try to help people who are down on their luck without looking for glory or credit as you never know it may turn around and be you someday who needs a help, easy to chat with open minded and communicative (sometimes I typical guy and can’t or miss reading between the lines— hit me over the head and make sure I know what your real thoughts and feeling are not the gray area that leads to misunderstandings and like wise never be nervous to ask me what I mean). I believe with mature adult conversation there is everything is resolved.

One off my favorite past times is exploring new areas with the right co-driver/ navigator learning new things and spending quality time with someone important whether it be a couple hours, the day or overnight trip. The having fun and quality time is what matters. I love driving and will drive anywhere in good weather. I grew up on the ocean so it always calls me back no matter where I am it pulls me back to it. No I am not trying to get you on over night trips, LOL.

Thank you for being open minded and showing that dating is very hard.

I wish you luck in your search and would like to chat.

    Bye,

    Russell
